Allman Family Mountain Photoshoot

When my friend Lauren approached me about doing a weekend long photoshoot of her extended family out in the mountains I was nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because there were 8 children aged 3 and under... yikes! Excited because I know how much fun this family is and in a setting as beautiful as Utana Bluffs, there was no way the pictures wouldn't turn out great. I hope they are not disappointed!

Anna Clay + Madeleine

Since becoming a mom, I have realized how rare pictures of me and my baby are! As moms, we are always behind the scenes, primping and trying to make them laugh, lugging snacks, sippy cups, a change of clothes... we are the work horses! It was so nice to focus on this adorable mom and her baby, Madeleine. It was fun to witness that strong bond between a mother and daughter and I'm so glad they stopped to capture these sweet, silly, and loving moments. We all know how fast the years go by so I'm honored to be able to freeze time, even if just for a second. Thank you for that opportunity Anna Clay!

The Oliver Family

As usual, I had the best time hanging out with the Olivers in beautiful downtown Norcross. As if Carter and Cole couldn't be any cuter, they both wore baby bow ties! I have to say they are definitely up there on the list for best dressed family. Drea and Jason, thanks for spending the time to capture your sweet family, and trusting me with those precious memories!

Gabbi and John + Noah

It was so great meeting up Gabbi, John and Noah for some fun pics at the Frazer Center- a beautiful backdrop. Despite the brisk weather and some last minute wardrobe changes ;) we managed to snap some great family shots with Noah and some sultry ones of mom and dad too! Taking pictures of beautiful people makes my job that much easier! Gabbi, thank you for the opportunity to work with you guys and capture the sweet and loving spirit of your family. I had a ball! Haas Family

The weather couldn't have been better for this fun family shoot with the Haas family. I love the way the sunlight in these photos adds to the already bright smiles and expressions on their faces. I especially love capturing the relationship of siblings; both the little ones and the older ones. Jackson and Jon took their boxing gloves off just long enough to capture a few smirks of pure brotherly love. And Riley and William couldn't be cuter, holding hands and simply loving life. It's been such a pleasure to photograph this family as they have all grown in so many ways over the years. Thank you, Sarah and Keith for inviting me to capture this time in your lives!

Baby Rowan

Getting up close and personal with a snuggly little newborn is something that will never get old. I always feel lucky to be reminded of how quickly things can change, especially in those first fleeting moments of life. By simply breathing, Rowan is instant cuteness. AND he is automatically cool because of his name- love it! Ben and Emmy, thank you for inviting me to capture the love and pure joy Rowan has already brought to your family in his short time with you. I know it's going to grow by the minute!

The Kasten Family Alaskan Experience!

This past May my family was lucky enough to visit Alaska! It was an amazing trip full of stunning views and a completely different culture. We are so grateful to the Kastens for coming up with this crazy idea and making it happen! Here are some highlights!

Baby Carter

It is always a shock to me when I show up at a new baby's home and the parents are completely calm, collected and put-together. Maybe it's just me, but I'm pretty sure my house was the opposite of that those first weeks we brought our baby home! I was very impressed with both mom and dad's confidence handling baby Carter, and you could tell he was very comforted by them. I am always in awe of how fast the bond between a baby and his parents develops. While Carter did great sleeping in my little nest of blankets, he was clearly the most content in mom or dad's arms.

Leonora and Brian, congratulations on your precious baby boy. Thank you for welcoming me into your home to capture some of his first snuggly moments with you. Enjoy!

The Stewart Family

As one of 5 girls in my family, I know how sweet the love of sisters can be. It is particularly precious in this case of a bright eyed blonde cutie with bouncing curls who adores her brand new sister. Despite the busy schedule of an almost 2 year old (play with stickers, cook breakfast, eat a popsicle...) it was so cute to see Emmy constantly checking in on her little sister. I can already tell they are going to be best friends!

Thorp Family

I have said this over and over but I feel so lucky to have clients that come back to me every year. The first time I met Leighton, he had just mastered the skill of sitting up unassisted. I remember getting down on the ground to shoot him on his level as he proudly leaned over and tried to reach me. Fast forward 4 years and I find myself sprinting around the park, trying to reach him! So much changes in the early years of a child and I feel so honored to have been able to document these exciting moments for the Thorps. Raegan and David, thank you for inviting me to be part of Leighton's childhood. He is even more sweet today than the day I met him!

Hudson's 7 Month Pictures

It's always hard to believe how much can change between a baby's first pictures and 7 months later! I love getting to see babies grow and it was so fun to watch Hudson becoming a little man. My favorite part about our shoot was watching his eyes light up at the sight of mom or dad. It's hard to tell who is more in love! Katie and Steve, thanks for having me back to capture another huge milestone for Hudson. I can't wait for the big 1 year photoshoot!

Baby Cole

My heart always melts when I get the opportunity to photograph newborns, and Baby Cole was no exception. His sleepy little body cuddled right into my arms and I almost didn't want to put him down! Obviously we had to get some great shots so I gave in, and he was happy to cooperate. Towards the end he was in a total milk coma and that's how we got those amazing shots with his arms propping his chin up. Isn't he scrumptious?!

Drea and Jason, Thank you again! for welcoming me into your home (do I feel like your annoying roommate yet?!). It was such a treat to be part of this new exciting change in your family.

Carter is 1!

It was so much fun capturing the cute and curious personality of Carter. Every one-year-old is tickled and delighted by different things and for Carter, it was his mom's beatboxing! He was so busy that he barely had time to notice me, but when his mom started making noise, he could barely contain himself! I love seeing the excitement in his eyes. Not to mention- how amazing is his hair?!

Drea and Jason, thanks for having me capture such a fun time in Carter's life. Things change so fast and now he is a big brother! Stay tuned for baby Cole's close-ups!

Marsh Family

If it hadn't been for my friend Jen, I never would have met the adorable Marsh Family and their scrumptious baby girl. Madeleine has the most crystal blue eyes I've ever seen and it was so fun watching them light up as she played with mommy and daddy. She is definitely daddy's girl cause no matter how many silly things I did, the best smiles only came out when he sang her favorite song: "Daddies love daughters, daughters love daddies...!" Oh yeah, she's already got him wrapped around those chubby little fingers.

Megan and John, it was so fun meeting you both and spending time with sweet little Madeleine. And thanks, Jen, for having the great idea to purchase their session for their baby shower. Enjoy!

Baby Sloan

I absolutely adore these images of sweet teeny tiny baby Sloan! Another sleepy cuddle bug, this little lady took some convincing to open her eyes. She eventually gave in to her daddy's demands and perked up for us to get some great shots of her big baby blues. Whether eyes open or closed, it was obvious her favorite place was curled up in mom or dad's arms.

Catherine and Matthew, thank you so much for inviting me to your home to capture these first moments with your beautiful new daughter. I can already tell you guys are great parents!

Baby Ashton

I'm so excited to share these precious images of Baby Ashton! The sweetest little newborn with the smoothest skin I have ever seen, she was such a good girl for us. In fact, she didn't even care to wake up as I moved her all around. Inside or outside, she was one content little girl. 

Jaci and Jamie, thank you so much for inviting to your home to capture such a special time for you. You guys are doing a great job as parents! Enjoy every minute with sweet baby Ashton.

Byars Family

You might think the idea for working on Mother's Day would be kind of a drag, but hanging out with this fun family was the total opposite! It's easy to see their vibrant personalities and their love of life and each other. Despite the chilly weather, the kids were so sweet to each other and me- I got two of the best hugs ever after the shoot! Looking at these pictures makes me hope my growing family will be as adorable and loving as them.

Sweet little Carter is going to be a big brother! The Oliver family is growing quickly and I'm so happy to document this exciting change in their lives. Drea and Jason, congratulations on number 2 and a house full of little boys!

Joyner Family

It was such a treat for me to meet up with my close friends the Joyners and their delicious little boy, Wesley. I did Katie and Greg's engagement pictures what seems like forever ago and while they are still the same crazy kids, they now have one of their own! Wesley is full of spunk and loves life- every day is a new adventure! I had so much fun playing with him and capturing that sly little smile and those big blue eyes. The Allman Family 2103

I love documenting big changes in a family's history. Especially a family I love so much! Sweet little Liza graced the world with her presence in March and I'm honestly not sure who is more happy to have her– mommy and daddy or big sister Lanier. I've never seen an older sibling be so tender and affectionate with a new baby as she is. I didn't even have to ask her to kiss the baby because it was all she wanted to do! Lauren and Daniel- I'm truly honored every time you invite me to document your beautiful growing family. You both have transitioned so naturally to a party of 4 and I'm glad I could preserve some of these first fleeting moments for you.

Hundley Family

I love capturing families during exciting new shifts in their lives. Life as they know it now, before another sweet baby boy enters their world. Before Weis becomes a protective big brother and gains a new BFF. You can practically see the excitement and anticipation in their eyes as they come closer to the next big change in their family history. It was a great day and although Wes was a busy little boy, we managed to capture some awesome shots of him being his fun and inquisitive self. And of course, Masheed looking like she stuffed a basketball under her tank top! I love the last set of images where she is looking so glamorous. She certainly wears pregnant well!

Baby Elizabeth

As always with newborns, it was such a joy to capture this precious little sweetheart. Though newborn shoots are often the most challenging, their rewards are great! I loved capturing the way Lizzie curled up so tight and nestled into whatever blankets and props we put her into. I can tell she gets her cool and calm demeanor from her parents who were both so natural and relaxed throughout the shoot. One of my favorite shots is the one of the whole family on the bed, and baby E's legs levitating in the air. Stretch it out girl! Claire and Mark, it was an honor to be part of such an exciting new time in your lives. Can't wait to hear all about Lizzie's adventures as she grows and changes so quickly. Enjoy!

Baby Hudson

Baby Hudson is one of the cutest and cuddliest newborns I have shot yet! After working with this family for 3 hours, I can tell baby H gets his patience from his father. As soon as he got all comfy cozy, there I went poking and pulling his arms out to get him just the way I wanted him. After one or two tiny protests, Hudson would curl up real tight again and drift back off to dreamland. Such a sweetie! And mom and dad were glowing watching him- it is easy to see how positively in love they are with their little prince. Kate and Steve- it was my pleasure working with you guys and capturing these great images of your little boy. Enjoy!
 

Junker Family 2012

It was so great to meet the newest member of the Junker family- sweet Alexis! Last time I saw them, mommy was only a few weeks away from delivery. It is obvious how naturally they have all transitioned, especially Julian, who loves his baby sister so much. Alexis is a busy little ladybug, trying to keep up with him. Claudette, your family is so full of love and laughter. Thank you for allowing me to capture some precious memories for you guys!
